MTR Station Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, safety and professional appearance of railway stations throughout Hong Kong. JOB OVERVIEW

 

The MTR Station Cleaner will be assigned to designated railway stations and will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness across passenger areas, station facilities, public spaces and other assigned areas.

 

The successful candidate must be able to follow cleaning schedules, workplace procedures and safety regulations. Employees are expected to complete assigned duties carefully and efficiently while maintaining a professional attitude toward passengers, supervisors and colleagues.

 

Because railway stations operate throughout the day, employees may be required to work different shifts depending on operational requirements. Flexibility and willingness to work rotating schedules are therefore important.

 

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Cleaning station platforms and passenger waiting areas.

 

Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and vacuuming station floors.

 

Cleaning ticketing halls and passenger service areas.

 

Cleaning customer service centres and station entrances.

 

Maintaining cleanliness around station exits and public walkways.

 

Cleaning corridors, passageways and other public areas.

 

Cleaning escalators, elevators, staircases and handrails.

 

Cleaning glass panels, doors, windows and other station surfaces.

 

Cleaning station offices and designated staff areas when assigned.

 

Cleaning public toilets and maintaining proper hygiene standards.

 

Replenishing toilet paper, hand soap and other hygiene supplies.

 

Emptying rubbish bins and transporting waste to designated collection points.

 

Collecting recyclable materials according to company procedures.

 

Removing dust and dirt from walls, windows, signs, barriers and station furniture.

 

Cleaning passenger seating areas and other frequently used facilities.

 

Sanitising frequently touched surfaces to help maintain a hygienic environment.

 

Cleaning areas affected by spills or other unexpected incidents.

 

Using approved cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment according to company safety procedures.

 

Checking cleaning equipment before and after use.

 

Keeping cleaning tools and equipment properly organised.

 

Reporting damaged equipment or facility problems to supervisors.

 

Immediately reporting safety hazards, spills or dangerous conditions.

 

Following all workplace health and safety requirements.

 

Following assigned cleaning schedules and daily work instructions.

 

Maintaining professional behaviour while working in public areas.

 

Assisting with additional cleaning duties during busy travel periods.

 

Supporting additional cleaning operations during special events or station activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

No previous cleaning experience is required.

 

Full job related training will be provided.
